On July 5, 2024, the official opening ceremony of the honorary consular office of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Novi Sad took place. The consulate was opened by H.E.M. Joseph Kalala Mulamba, Ambassador of the DRC to the Republic of Serbia, in the presence of diplomatic and local staff of the Embassy in Belgrade.
On the occasion of this event, Mrs. Radmila Bašević, honorary consul, hosted a reception marked by the presence of many distinguished persons, among others the special envoy of H.E. Marko Đurić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in the person of acting Assistant Minister for Consular Affairs Ambassador Nataša Rašević.
Also present at this event were Prof. Dr. Jovan Janjić Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Mrs. Sandra Božić, Vice President of the Government of AP Vojvodina, M. Igor Crnobarac, Deputy Mayor of the City of Novi Sad, numerous members of the central and provincial Governments, representatives of respective Chambers of Commerce, Ambassadors and Diplomats accredited to Serbia, M. Rajko Marić, President of the Consular Corps in Serbia and Consuls of other countries present in the region, representatives of scientific, educational and cultural life and civil society, as well as a large Congolese community living in Serbia.
